Insiders | Disability royal commission analysis + Sen. Jordon Steele-John | ABC News In-depth
The Disability Royal Commission has handed down its report after four-and-a-half years of painful, powerful, evidence. But the commissioners are split on how to move forward.
David Speers speaks to ABC’s disability affairs reporter Nas Campanella to get the latest, and interviews Greens Disability Services Spokesperson Jordon Steele-John about what the government should do with the findings.
The panel - Patricia Karvelas, Phil Coorey and John Paul Janke also discuss the Voice referendum with less than a fortnight until voting day, looking at two very different speeches delivered a day apart from Warren Mundine and Noel Pearson at the National Press Club. They also discuss the Prime Minister’s suggestion this week that even if the referendum fails, it will have been worth it because the process has shone a spotlight on Indigenous disadvantage.
Also on the agenda, Dan Andrews calls time on his political career after nine years as Victoria’s premier, and the ongoing scandal involving Qantas/Qatar.
Mike Bowers talks the week in pictures with Jon Kudelka.
