'I thought she would weather the storm': Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin resigns

PR Counsel Managing Director Kristy McSweeney says she thought Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin would “weather the storm” following the nationwide network outage.

Ms Bayer Rosmarin has resigned following a Senate grilling for the major national outage in telecommunications services for many Australians.

“The government’s really – I'm going to say lucky in the context of crisis communications,” Ms McSweeney told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“Because we really shouldn’t – I don’t think – be having Senate inquiries, particularly led by the Greens, into protecting small business.

“It was an attack.”
