Rebecca Black talks 'Friday' 10 years later, coming out queer, and releasing a new track called 'Girlfriend"

ABOUT: Singer Rebecca Black burst on the scene 10 years ago with what many called "The most hated song in America". Her 'Friday song boasted record breaking streams and youtube views. She is all grown up now and has released more music that showed off her true talent.

Recently Rebecca has spoken out about how, in her eyes, sexuality exists on a spectrum, without explicitly identifying her own sexuality. But in a new interview, the viral star opened up for the first time about her queer identity.

On a recent episode of the Dating Straight podcast, Black told co-hosts Jack Dodge and Amy Ordman that she had recently been through a breakup with a woman, leading to her coming out publicly as queer. "I made a conscious decision to not, like, 'come out,'" she told the hosts. "People started asking and I stopped not responding. I'm still in the process, it feels like."
