The sound of a crowd is powerful. It actually is a weight of pressure that can exceed the athlete's ability to perform. Archers who are about to contend at the highest levels are NOT prepared automatically for the onslaught of spectator excitement. Right when she must draw her arrow and shoot for the gold, the crowds will be cheering for her opponent who only 3 seconds before shot HER arrow.
