State Board - Sculptured Nail (Task #5)

State Board - Sculptured Nail is a CosmoReady video production. This video demonstrates Task #5 in the nail technician state board exam; as it relates to the NIC® standards.

REMOVAL OF SCULPTURED NAIL (Task #6) - Skill demonstration has been added to many nail technician exams. While we don't have a video at this time, here are the basic steps:
Removal of Sculptured Nail (20 Min.)
1. Sanitize hands
1. File extension to rough up acrylic. This allows for better soaking off.
3. Apply acetone to cotton pad.
4. Place cotton pad on nail and wrap with foil or other tool to hold cotton in place.
5. Wait 5-10 min. for acetone to dissolve acrylic.
6. Use orangewood stick to remove acrylic (push toward the free edge)
7. File and buff nail smooth.
8. Apply alcohol to cotton pad - Cleanse nail and remove debris from surrounding nails.
9, Apply oil to Q-tip and so you can hydrate the nail and surrounding skin.
10, Sanitize hands
*Sanitize at the beginning and end of your demonstration as well as any time you place items in trash.
