Stars of ‘Boy Meets World’ reunite at Tribeca for premiere of ‘Doc Meets World’

📺 🎬 More than 30 years after the debut of “Boy Meets World,” the stars of the hit 1990s sitcom were out promoting their new documentary, “Doc Meets World,” at the Tribeca Festival.

It's inspired by their popular rewatch podcast, "Pod Meets World," which they’ve turned into a national tour.

Will Friedle, who played Eric on the show, spoke with 1010 WINS at a screening as the documentary premiered last week.

“My career started here, so I never thought I would leave New York,” Friedle said. “I mean the idea of a kid from a small town in Connecticut first coming to New York and auditioning and getting onto the child auditioning circuit. And then getting a screen test to fly out to Los Angeles. And then living in Los Angeles to be in a sitcom. I mean, it’s like winning the lottery.”

Friedle’s castmate Danielle Fishel, who portrayed Topanga on the show, talked about getting to work again with Friedle and their costar Rider Strong, who played Shawn.

“I feel so calm and at peace, there is no safer space for me than in the middle of these two,” Fishel said. “This is our position that we’ve had for 35 years together.”
