GORKHA | BARPAK & LAPRAK | 4K

Gorkha is a town in central Nepal which is located on a hill overlooking the Himalayas. It became part of Nepal when King Prithvi Narayan Shah of Gorkha (also known as Gurkha) unified the country 250 years ago. The district headquarters is in Gorkha Bazaar. For our seventh episode, we explored Barpak & Laprak in Gorkha district.

Barpak is a village in the northern belt of Gorkha located at 1900 m elevation. The village has 1200 houses of Gurung inhabitants. It was the epicenter of 2015's earthquake that claimed over 9,000 lives, leaving thousands injured across the country.

Laprak, In Gupsi Pakha in Gorkha district lies about 2,750m above sea level and there are 573 identical, evenly spaced, two storeyed brick buildings.
