New Orleans Weather: Cold front and storms arrive Thursday afternoon
Starting Thursday morning mild and foggy in areas. The rain is still mainly to the west, but there are a few showers around this morning.
Most of the rain looks to arrive through the midday and afternoon with the front and then continuing a cold rain after the front into the overnight and the first half of Friday. We are under a low risk for an isolated strong to severe storm as well as a low risk for some isolated street flooding. Temperatures will begin to drop by the afternoon and evening, but not before highs reach the mid and upper 70s! Though turning colder, we will remain above freezing, so precipitation will remain as rain with perhaps an ice pellet or two farther north, especially near the MS/LA line.
