"During the medieval period Vrlika, along with the rest of the Balkans, experienced invasion and subsequent occupation by the Ottoman Empire. During the Ottoman rule the local population of Vrlika was forced to convert to Islam or leave. Many of the original settlers from Vrlika left for the island Olib in the Adriatic Sea off the Croatian coast.

In the late 17th century, the town was liberated from the Ottomans by the Republic of Venice as a result of the Morean War.

Nomad Documentary

"“Nomad” is a project that came to my mind, and technical support in the first episode was given to me by the film studio “Jedina.hr”.

This is a high-quality project that deals with micro locations of Croatia (“I will not stop until I cover every inch of the Homeland!” – author’s statement) through history, geography, biology, ecology, cultural heritage, forgotten stories and myths. The concept is educational and instructive, and yet fun, guaranteed by my experience as a great satirist, adventurer and world traveller. Like Bear Grylls, but through education, and not through surviving in nature.

My great desire is to make a complete, final and comprehensive story from every location told in 52 minutes."
