The above video is of Lamella plate settler is of capacity 10888 m3/hr (261.3 MLD) installed for seawater desalination in a powerplant in India.
The plate provided is Single-Insertion type inclined at 55 ° and plate thickness of 3.5mm.

The offered lamella settlers are specially designed for the filtration of raw water. Our offered lamella settlers are acclaimed for removing large molecules and particles from water. The offered lamella settlers utilize the physical and chemical barriers for water filtration

Lamella counter-flow unit consists of corrugated plates mounted parallel to each other at a spacing of 50-80mm and mounted at angle 45-60 degree based on application. Design of Lamella clarifier includes: plate arranged at the upper portion of the unit in a perfect square and circular scraper mechanism at the bottom of lamella to scrape of solids that are settled.
Laminar condition is essential for gravity separation to takes places. Due to the difference in densities of effluent and solids, solids tend to settle down as it is heavier. Based on the settling velocity of solids, the area that is required for the separation to happen is provided in terms of plates.
Effluent [after chemical coagulation and flocculation] containing suspended solids enter lamella unit via inlet launder and enters the bottom of the lamella. Effluent then, rises up through the plate pack. Solids that are heavier [due to chemical coagulation and flocculation] slide through the plates, settles at the bottom of the lamella clarifier mechanism. Scrapper mechanism [placed at certain slope] present at the bottom scrapes off the whole diameter of the lamella and collects solids in the sludge cone, which then can be discharged using valves. Treated water rises through plate pack and falls into outlet launder which is situated at either side of the plate pack arrangement. Plate pack in lamella clarifier can either be placed as individual insertable type or can be held as a pack using tie rod and spacers
