Property Taxes in Westchester County #shorts

Westchester has some of the highest property taxes in the country. But why? Well, you're paying for top-rated schools, beautiful parks, and easy access to NYC.

Here’s what you need to know: Property taxes are based on your home’s assessed value and the tax rate in your specific town or village. On average, you’re looking at around 2% to 3% of your home’s value per year. That means for a $750,000 home, taxes could be anywhere from $15,000 to $22,500 annually!

So before you buy, always check the tax history of a property, factor taxes into your monthly payment, and see if you qualify for STAR or other exemptions to save money.
