Sounds of the Greater Prairie Chicken: clucks, whoops, wines and cackles

I was fortunate enough to spend time and film these (near threatened) Greater Prairie Chickens in Eastern Colorado.

Best known for their elaborate mating rituals, the Greater Prairie Chicken is no ordinary Chicken

Near threatened due to habitat loss and hunting, they now only live on small parcels of managed prairie land throughout North America. It is thought that their current population has declined severely, to approximately 500,000 individuals.
