Gros Morne National Park - Newfoundland is EPIC!

Newfoundland's rugged beauty at its best, Gros Morne National Park! RV living has taken us many places, but this Canadian National Park is EPIC everywhere!

It's time guys! Exploring Newfoundland is under way via our 23 foot Class C Adventurer RV. We pick up here after arriving fresh off the ferry to Newfoundland. We headed to the town of Stephenville to get groceries and stock up before the park. It was such a beautiful drive, and it had quite a few pull over spots for potential boondocking as well! Not that we needed to sleep on the side of the road in the end however, because we got to camp near an old abandoned airport strip right outside of town. It appeared to be quite the popular spot, by many full time RV living Newfoundlanders even. Near the free camping spot the town also had a nice quality free sani dump station too. Weve found Newfoundland to be very RV friendly and the locals seem to enjoy it as well so that was great to find out. We were worried everything was going to cost more over here and be hard to come by but we can assure you, it has the same stuff you would find anywhere else (basically, with variances of course, like selling beer inside the gas stations was a first haha..).

After stocking up and enjoying Stephenville it was time to adventure into Canada's Gros Morne National Park. It is so, so beautiful. Huge fjords, the Earth's mantle exposed, moose, pitcher plants, harbor communities, the picture perfect nature views were unreal. Everywhere was panoramically beautiful. We spent the first night of arriving in the national park area just outside of the boundaries in the town of Bonne Point. It was such a cute town, and was located near the Gros Morne discovery center, and the start of our hike we wanted to do the next day.

The discovery center was such a great place to head BEFORE doing the hike, as it gave us some much needed info of the sceneries. We learned about the Earth's mantle, Newfoundland's moose, the pitcher plant, and other odds and ends which was perfect since we actually saw a moose in the distance, the pitcher plants and all the other beauties. The discovery centers parking wasn't super huge for RVs but we just parked slightly lower in the dirt lot employees normally use it seems.

From the Discovery center, we started "the Big Lookout" hike too. It took roughly 2.5 hours I would saw and was well worth it. It provided all the most amazing views of the national parks diversity up above it all. The pitcher plants up there are Newfoundland's provincial flower and are common at the top and can be seen from the boardwalks. This hike is a definite recommend. We could even see the Tablelands, which is where we'll pick up next RV travel vlog with you guys.

So stay tuned for some pretty epic drone footage of a cute Newfoundland town, the Earth's mantle raw and exposed and much more Newfie fun with us. Thanks for being here friends.
