#7 - The Tide Car TKO-600 Transmission Swap Is Done!

I am so excited about this one! The TKO-600 is in and it runs super smooth. This car feels how it's meant to feel now. It feels like a redemption of sorts. This transmission absolutely belongs in this car.

First up is tackling the shift lever. which needed a small bit of fabrication, nothing crazy. Then it's on to driving the car!

A small shakedown trip around the block turned into a 30 minute trip into town because it was running just that well. I still have a long way to go to break in the clutch. There are probably around 200 starts on it now as of this writing, and it's supposed to have 1200 total. I have been driving the car every chance I get to try and break in this clutch as fast as possible. Can't really go hard on it until that is done.

I hope you all have really enjoyed this little series. I have many many more plans for this car. The Ford 9 inch rearend rebuild will probably come next. I'm pretty sure it's a limited slip, and I'm also pretty sure the clutches in it are shot! But that's for another video. More to come!
