Jim Henson produced two pilots for 'The Muppet Show' but ABC passed, as did other US networks. But in England Lew Grade was interested, so the show that would become a staple of US television was actually produced by ITC in the UK. Over its five seasons it won multiple Emmys, plus a Grammy and a Peabody Award. The theme song is by Sam Pottle and Jim Henson.
