This is an acoustic version of a song I originally recorded on an album called “Music for Love,” and I finally found a good atmosphere and feeling to film for it in the countryside around Hidegkút, up in the Buda hills heading out of Budapest, where I have been living.

There is a quote attributable to St.Paul the Apostle that I adore… “Life is only for love, and time is only that we may find God.” Yes… that makes complete sense to me. The meaning and purpose of life is to become God-conscious, and time is a blessing and a mercy bestowed upon us that allows this to happen.

Time is like the air that we breathe… given freely in grace as a great blessing, so that we get a good crack at solving the mystery of our mortality, and at finding the Grail of the Eternal Life in our spiritualised heart. All other meaning is illusory and superfluous, honestly, it is! Trust me! Anything other than this is simply intellectual duelling over dualism. Humankind is spiritual before it is physical, and we are not here for the glory of man alone, or the function of the animal, to procreate; humankind is here for the deeply honourable, sacred task of remembering its divinity, and in so doing to transform its spiritual instinct into spiritual consciousness.

There are many gags about the meaning of life, as if it’s an unfathomable mystery inducing a kind of surreal humour which relies upon the assumption that we all get the joke… that we can jokingly guess at the meaning of life in a nutty kind of way because we can never know it; but the real joke is contained the sweetness and innocence of the assumption itself, which assumes that the meaning of life is something we can’t know.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Actually, as spiritual beings, we become physical beings through music… we are beings created by the musical aspect of God!! We are made of tone, melody and rhythm… we are made of dance and song. Our limbic system is a direct physical manifestation of the heavenly dance of creation, and our breath is the song of the universe. The greatest living proof of God is the effect music has on the soul. We are an octave in harmony with higher octaves… with overtones. The first notes of the octave are the lower sensibilities… the earth man tones, the ‘manas’ of the human being, and the higher notes are the divine qualities… the ‘hu’ of the human being.

We complete one octave and then climb the scale.

Through music we can become aware of our God-self, and once awareness is experienced the meaning of life becomes indisputably obvious; a joy; a home-coming; a living, breathing reality; a remembrance; a song; a work of art; a state of grace; a blessing; a completion and a mercy.

Through music we can become aware of the choreography of our existence and the song of our soul. No other art-form can give this direct experience. Music helps humankind see the unseen world.

This song ‘Life is only for love’ is a hymn of gratitude for that miracle… that the song can lead a human being to the remembrance of divine love.
