Generating mine plans quickly and efficiently has always been a key target of mine planner around the world, but today, with even more key indicators to monitor and constraints to take in to account, how can we be sure that we have created the optimal plan?

It’s easy to get lost and focus on a single parameter, using this as a proxy for total value of the project, in the past there was an intense focus on NPV as the single metric for optimization and while this is a very useful measurement, it’s not the only one that determines a successful plan.
