WEBINAR: The Duke Endowment commissioned Dr. James H. Johnson, Jr., PhD, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, to develop a report on aging demographics and evidence-based programs in the Carolinas. Dr. Johnson reported on his findings, including highlighting the major demographic drivers that shaped the size, composition, and geographic distribution of the elderly population (65 and older) in the Carolinas at the end of the first decade of the new millennium; and identifying both promising initiatives and programmatic gaps where new and innovative efforts are needed to foster and facilitate successful aging in place.
