Not like other girls, Stereotypes, Colorblindness | How Disney Channel Shaped a Generation

In this video I analyze media tropes and trends of the early 2000s such as not like other girls, color blind casting and storytelling, as well as racial and gendered stereotypes in order to see how they affected me and others as children, as well as adults, and the importance of good representation, and the disastrous repercussions of bad representation.

So let’s take a trip down memory lane and analyze the tropes and trends of the early 00s that were all over Disney Channel shows and movies that shaped our (or at least my) childhood like The Proud Family, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, High School Musical, Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior, Jessie, and many more.
