The most important advantage your company can have over the competition is speed. If your employees are less focused on politics and work culture, they are focusing more on what actually needs to be done. The only way to get to that level of efficiency is by actually caring about what your employees want, and deploying the time and empathy to make sure each of one of them is having their needs met.
