What British expats have been successful in moving to Spain?

Whilst in Spain I have seen various types of expats but the most successful ones have always been fluent in Spanish. Beyond that the ability to commute to the UK or the oil industry have been good locations to earn good money and head home to Spain.
Localised incomes in Spain can be difficult to generate and the reliance on the Spanish language is very important in becoming integrated fully.
