2009 Tacoma 4WD Front Ball Joints and Wheel Bearing - Part 3 - Auto Repair

2009 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4x4, Part 3 : Front Wheel Bearing and BOTH Upper and Lower Ball Joints. The Final Touches.

This video is the third part of three videos. The bearing and the ball joints are in, and now I finish up the job. All of the torque values shown in this video were collected from multiple search results. There were MANY variations, so I went with what seemed to be most common AND made the most sense. It seems that manufacturers want to make sure that you do NOT have the
correct information to fix your own vehicle for free, so that you either pay someone else to do it for you, or you break it and have to pay someone else to do it for you.
Sometimes it's quite difficult to find this information, but time and research, or data subscription, will get you what you need, but beware.... The information is NOT always accurate, even when you pay for it!
As with ANY job you are thinking about doing yourself, research is key! KNOW what you're getting yourself into and watch as many videos on the subject as you can!
(I also HIGHLY recommend reading the comments for tips and CORRECTIONS!)

I also highly recommend using new hardware where recommended/required! I have since acquired a large assortment of new cotter pins, so there won't be any upsetting people "to their core!" (See Rainman Ray's Repair channel to see why to not show him the re-use of a cotter pin)

If you've never done a job like this, be sure to have that "phone a friend" who has. While this job isn't as easy as changing brakes, I show you how to get through it, with tips throughout the video, so that YOU can do THIS yourself, at home!

Auto repairs for the "Do-it-yourself" mechanic... These "HOW-TO" videos, that help show viewers the details of what is involved in a specific repair... some do's and don'ts, as well as a variety of tips to make the repair easier. Warning: Some videos may contain material that qualifies as "other than normally accepted".

One of my most popular videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ge3IR3oi3aM

I do most, if not all repairs, with tools that I carry around in my overloaded 1997 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. I perform "On-Site" braking and suspension repairs, amongst other diagnostics and services. My tools consist mostly of Craftsman, a few Stanley, Snap-On, Husky, Pittsburgh, and S&K tools. Scan tools include hand held Actrons, DVOMs, and test lights. I also currently use a Zurich ZR Pro, for advanced and bidirectional diagnostics as well as a Snap-On Verus Pro, for more detailed diagnostics. I'm always expanding my collection, based on need and convenience.
