Ridiculously over-complicated bedtime reading lights

"I want a better light for reading in bed" - It all seemed so simple to begin with... just some LEDs and a power source... but the easy things often turn out to be more difficult than expected...

For this project, I went through a variety of lighting options, worked my way through two different off-the-shelf battery banks (none were quite right) and ended up building my own 'perfect' solar-charging battery bank.

Getting the battery bank just right was no mean feat either... 'All' it took was four different voltage boost converters, two different charging circuits, an MPPT controller, a low-voltage/short circuit protection board and some 3D printing.

Finally there's a little aside into modifying LED lights to throw their light in the right direction.

Phew.. I'm calling this project finished now... after a ludicrous six-month build time.

Perhaps I just suck at this kind of thing... but well.. I was busy with other stuff too.
