In a significant political development ahead of the Tamil Nadu elections, the Pattali Makkal Katchi has formally joined the National Democratic Alliance. PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss met Edappadi K Palaniswami in Chennai to confirm the alliance with the AIADMK and the BJP. The parties said the NDA will contest the upcoming elections together with the stated aim of defeating the ruling DMK. The announcement comes amid internal churn within the PMK, even as the NDA signals efforts to consolidate its ranks in the state.
