Homage to my Mother

My mother passed away on November 18th. Over the past year I started to document our family outings and her way of life. She was a self taught nutritionalist and herbalist and an avid photographer. On our outings I walked beside her and we would document the natural world around us. Flowers to butterflies, rocks to people. I began to realize my eye was inspired by hers. My style of filmmaking was influenced by her photography. This piece was hard for me to make, but in the process i realized many things about her and about myself. Documenting her helped me understand her. In her last months she decided she wanted to go to the horse head nebula and that she would wait there for my father. So i end with a montage from Tree Of Life which inspired her. I love you mom. See you at the horse head nebula.
