SHOW SYNOPSIS
Simon & Mara are great friends. The best of friends, actually. One day they witness an unfortunate dumping, and decide to make a new pal.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We feel as artists and community members it is important to acknowledge that the land upon which these pieces were imagined, conceptualized, and brought into fruition, is the traditional and rightful land of the Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. This territory is part of the Dish with One Spoon Treaty, yet we must acknowledge the ongoing genocide that was and remains to be instrumental in keeping “Canada” the way it is. We are grateful to have the opportunity to contribute to this ecosystem, and vow to be responsible and conscientious artists as we continue to create on the land. We at the Beck Festival encourage you to make a donation to address water challenges in Indigenous communities in Canada—particularly access to safe, clean drinking water. We have identified Water First as an organization that supports Indigenous-led water resource management.
