Mon Jam (ม่อนแจ่ม) is a beautiful mountain top village just a 45 minute drive away from Chiang Mai city, in Northern Thailand. We originally went there on a day trip and saw the accommodation options, and then we decided to return to spend the night.

There are many accommodation options, from luxury dome tents to basic dome tents to all sorts of cabins and bungalow styles. We chose a nice family run lodge called Ozone House - Mon Jam (บ้านโอโซน ม่อนแจ่ม https://goo.gl/maps/w1TP319zJvUTpGhM9). The Hmong family that owned and ran it, were extremely friendly - they even cooked us an outstanding Hmong meal, which you can watch here: https://youtu.be/Lk3HXqYlqFI

Our Igloo shaped dome tent was basic but nice, including our own private platform overlooking a panoramic view of the mountains and village of Mon Jam (ม่อนแจ่ม). It also came with a private bathroom, though outside of the dome tent, but on our own platform. Our evening was fantastic and relaxing, full of fresh cool air and an escape from the city life.

My family really enjoyed our stay in Mon Jam (ม่อนแจ่ม), and highly recommended to get some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful mountain views and terraced farming. Additionally, it’s so close to Chiang Mai city.
