African Greys Eating Ice

When temperatures dropped rapidly in November 2010 at The UK Parrot Zoo we expected the birds to be static and huddled together for heat, but no, they were loving it and instead of hanging about they played all day and this play included eating Ice Pops from the drinking pool, taking a bath in cold water could be classed as misguided naturalistic behaviour but actually eating ice is totally of their own choice and just shows how good their endothermic qualities are.
