A drive down Capital Blvd in Raleigh NC. Capital Blvd is the main north-south thoroughfare through Northern Raleigh. It is several lanes wide in many locations and over the years has seen some upgrades to expressway status with interchanges and widening. The road enters Wake County in the northern suburb of Wake Forest signed as US Highway 1. As it continues south it becomes US 401 before entering downtown Raleigh. Major junctions include I-540, I-440, and US 70/Wade Avenue.
