Capturing the Catwalk: Michel Arnaud Interview
Michel Arnaud studied journalism in France in the early 1960s and moved to London in 1964, where he found paid work by shooting fashion collections. Each design house produced a collection per season (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter), which included daywear, tailored suits, cocktail dresses, evening gowns, and often a wedding ensemble.
Arnaud focused his reportage career on capturing the catwalk. In 1970, he began working as runway photographer for British Vogue, traveling to Paris, Milan, and New York. From 1991 to 1998, Arnaud covered the runways exclusively for American Harper’s Bazaar.
