In this video you can see the beautiful Claudio Billi's Smart. I want to thanks Claudio for the kindness to me with whom I talked during the 2015 Summer Race slalom (Molinella - Bo). The pestiferous Smart is powered by 954cc Honda CBR engine with modified exhaust system. The rear suspensions come from the Clio 1.8 16v, chain drive with rigid axle and the rear is extended to 10 cm per side. Original Smart suspensions at the front and the entire forecarriage has been moved forward 8 cm. The Smart mount original brake discs at the front and a Clio 1.8 16v single disc at the rear. In addition, for the handbrake there's another disk on the transmission. The change gear come from the motorcycle and it's a sequential type that work even without clutch. The cooling system is the original from Smart and also the tank is the same. Important to know that the car complies with the CSAI rollbar type J regulations and could partecipate to slalom, hilclimb race and challenge. Claudio tells me that the project Smart born from the passion of three friends inside a shed at Villanova di Bagnacavallo (Ravenna) and other changes need to grow up the car at top performances. Quella che nel video è la splendida Smart di Claudio Billi che ringrazio per la disponibilità nei miei confronti e con cui ho chiacchierato durante la gara slalom Summer Race 2015 di Molinella (Bo). La pestifera Smart è motorizzata Honda CBR, cilindrata 954cc ad iniezione e scarico modificato. Il reparto sospensioni vede al posteriore i trapezi della Clio 1.8 16v, trasmissione a catena con assale rigido e la carreggiata è stata allargata di 10 cm per parte. All'anteriore le sospensioni sono quelle originali Smart ma modificate, l'avantreno è stato allungato di 8 cm. Monta i dischi freno originali sul davanti ed un solo disco posteriore della Clio 1.8 16v sul lato destro. Inoltre per il freno a mano vi è un'altro disco a parte sulla trasmissione. Il cambio è quello da moto di tipo sequqnziale che si innesta anche senza frizione. Chiudono il quadro i mozzi ruota con flangiatura a quattro bulloni Renault. Il raffreddamento è affidato al radiatore originale Smart ed anche il serbatoio è lo stesso. Da segnalare che la vettura rispetta le normative CSAI con Rollbar di tipo J e quindi l'auto se omologata potrebbe fare slalom, salite e challenge. Claudio giustamente mi segnala che il progetto di questa Smart è nata dalla passione di 3 amici dentro un capanno a Villanova di Bagnacavallo (Ravenna) e necessita di altre modifiche per portarla al top. Buon divertimento, troppo forte vederla girare!
