The International Field Program at Milano I The New School

Follow several New School graduate students participating in the International Field Program (newschool.edu/milano/ifp) in Istanbul, Turkey, Capetown, South Africa and Buenos Aires, Argentina as they navigate their way through internships, research projects, and international communities. The students describe the challenges and opportunities that they encountered while on their individual and unique IFPs

Since its inception in 2002, the IFP has provided a platform for emerging practitioners to gain hands-on experience in the field while following a rigorous course of study. The IFP combines seminars, professional internships, and independent research with faculty supervision. More than 660 students have participated in the International Field Program in over 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. Students gain practical field experience through work and research with Community-Based Organizations, NGOs, International Organizations, government, local agencies and peer academic institutions.
