The Life of Anne of Cleves

Here is the video on Anne of Cleve's life and marraige to Henry.

She is deemed the most successful of Henry's six wives because she had got a good deal out of Henry when their marriage was anulled. She wasn't discarded like Katherine of Aragon or beheaded like Anne Boleyn. She was given the title of Princess and was known as the King's sister and also was given palaces and even Hever Castle

She also went on to outlive Henry himself and his other wives so she also led a better life than his other wives

But the annulment was indeed embarrassing for her, to be marriage and abandoned within 6 months

I do believe that she was actually very pretty, the only claim of her being ugly came from Henry and other reports of her appearance were positive, also Holbein was instructed by Henry to be accurate whilst painting her portrait. It was just merely the fact that she wasn't fair like Jane Seymour or Katherine of Aragon nor was she slim like Anne Boleyn. So it was her dark complexion, curvy figure and german dress that henry disliked.
