Plantation Archaeology Walking Tour
Our new 1.5 hour half walking tour explores how we use archaeology to better understand the plantation and the lives of those who lived and labored at Monticello. During the tour, guests will see excavations and artifacts while learning about both the work of archaeology and the history of this land beginning with ancestral Monacan Indians through the Jeffersonian era and up to today.
As we pilot this new tour option, guests are invited to participate free of charge. A 3-5 minute survey will follow the program. Learn more at monticello.org/walking-tour
