1970 John Deere 400 Backhoe Swing Cylinder Repair

This is a 1970 John Deere 400 backhoe. One of the swing cylinder eyes broke, and in doing so took out a hydraulic fitting on the other swing cylinder. In this video I made a replacement eye and welded it onto the cylinder rod. And fortunately the broken hydraulic fitting didn't ruin the threads on the other cylinder.

My motivation for making this video was to show how I eventually got the tapered pin out of the swing assembly so I could get the old eye remnants off the tractor to make the new eye.
