NEW YORK | Through a Vintage Lens (Helios 44-2 + Anamorphot 1.33x)

This is my second video shooting with the Anamorphot 1.33x adapter by SLR Magic. Just before my major trip to Africa I wanted to quickly share some impressions I filmed last week in Downtown Manhattan, New York City.

Whereas I used Canon's nifty fifty in my first video, this time I tried it out with my very first vintage lens - The HELIOS 44-2, which is oddly a 58mm 2.0 lens.

I certainly created some really cool bokeh and lens flares but has weaknesses in it's sharpness, especially in the corners (which has also some charm). You cannot really shoot wide open at 2.0 but rather stop it down to 2.8 or closer.
