The brand new second stimulus bill called the HEREOS Act just passed the House, but will the HEROES stimulus bill become law? I break down the new stimulus bill, whether the $2,000 stimulus check passed, what the status is of the HEROES Act, and what the stimulus bill will ultimately look like.

The new stimulus bill is over $3 trillion dollars, and the stimulus bill has a lot in it.

First off, it contains $1,200 stimulus checks with the same stimulus check qualifications as the CARES Act, with a few additions. You can have up to three dependents and get a $1,200 stimulus check for each one of them. Dependents can be any age for the stimulus check.

The 2000 per month stimulus check did not pass. The HEROES Act does not contain the $2,000 per month stimulus check.

Second, unemployment insurance will be expanded to January 31, 2021 under the HEROES Act if it officially becomes law. The stimulus unemployment insurance of $600 will continue far past the July 31 cutoff date currently under law via the CARES Act.

Third, there are a lot of other stimulus provisions in the HEROES Act, including a removal of the SALT deduction caps, $1 trillion for state and local governments, expansion of business grants, and many other things.

Now, the HEROES Act stimulus bill just passed the House of Representatives. The Senate has stated that it will not pass the HEROES Act stimulus bill. But the White House has stated that it wants to see additional stimulus checks given to Americans.

So what does this mean for those who are looking for a stimulus bill update? A new stimulus bill is almost certainly around the corner from passing.
