Top 5 Reasons why your car shakes when accelerating
Number one. Loose suspension components. A loose suspension components can contribute to a car shaking and vibrating when accelerating or when driving. Some of the common causes are loose inner tie rod and outer tie rod, worn cv axle, bad wheel bearing, worn control arm bushing, pitman arm, central link, and ball joint.
Number two. Engine mount. An engine mount job supports the engine and to reduce vibrating. The engine mount is usually made of rubber and steel. Overtime, the rubber component become worn and allows the engine to rock. To check for a bad engine mount; move the parking lever from park to reverse and park to drive. Listen for a knocking noise. When a knocking noise is heard that means an engine mount is bad.
Number three. Tires. When a tire is in the process of being constructed in the factory; there may be imperfection and weight distribution may be uneven. There is a reason why tires need to be balance prior to installing it. When a tire is not balance the car will vibrate and shakes when in motion. Some additional causes are deflated tires and uneven tire pressure in all four wheels.
Number four. Misfire. A misfire will cause the engine to shake at all speed. Some of the common causes of a misfire are bad ignition coil, bad spark plug, bad spark plug wires, bad fuel injectors, open wires, low engine compression, vacuum leak and fuel delivery issue.
Number five. Worn drive shaft components. Some of the common worn drive shaft components are the worn u joints. A bad u joints usually makes a clunking noise during acceleration. Thank you for watching. Please like, share and subscribe for more auto repair videos.
