Hamas' unprecedented attack on Israel 'was an act of terror on behalf of a terrorist organisation'

Nir Oz Kibbutz was attacked by Hamas militants during their rampage through Israeli towns and villages bordering the Gaza Strip, killing more than 1,000 people and taking scores of hostages to Gaza, in the deadliest attack in Israel's history. Israeli forces swiftly pushed back, besieging Gaza, pounding it with air strikes and fighting militants still inside Israel. Once they had taken back Nir Oz, the Israeli military scoured 20,000 acres of land, house to house, looking for survivors. While there were survivors, they discovered entire families slaughtered and many others abducted and taken to Gaza as hostages. France 24's François Picard is joined by Abbey Onn whose five family members living in Nir Oz Kibbutz "are presumed to be hostages." She and her family have brought together a "big community of people that are trying to do as many interviews in as many countries to make sure that people understand that what happened on Saturday is not part of this conflict we know as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This was an act of terror on behalf of a terrorist organisation. And we just want people to understand that we want the hostages, more than 100 people, brought home now." The family of Abbey Onn has called Nir Oz Kibbutz home for almost a century.
