Rahul Gandhi Criticises Telegram Ban Over NEET Re-Examination; BJP Hits Back In a Steering Remark

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has raised strong objections over the reported temporary restrictions on Telegram in the context of the NEET-UG re-examination and ongoing concerns around paper leaks in competitive examinations.

In his remarks, Rahul Gandhi said that targeting communication platforms widely used by students is not a solution to the core issue. He pointed out that millions of students across India depend on such platforms for academic purposes, including notes, test series, and preparation discussions. He questioned how restricting access to these tools would address the root cause of paper leak incidents.
He further argued that the focus should remain on identifying and taking strict action against those involved in organised paper leak networks, rather than affecting digital platforms used for education and communication. Rahul Gandhi also raised concerns about the effectiveness of such restrictions in preventing repeated examination irregularities.

Responding to his remarks, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi launched a sharp counterattack. He said the decision for re-examination has already been taken and approved by the court, questioning the basis of continued opposition.
Trivedi also referred to past paper leak incidents in Rajasthan during Congress rule and linked Rahul Gandhi’s statements to internal party dynamics. The exchange has intensified the political debate over exam integrity, student welfare, and the handling of paper leak cases in the country.
