INVITATION OF BELARUSIANS FROM LUXEMBOURG

Registration: https://belaruscongress.org

The First Belarusian World Congress aims to facilitate the consolidation of Belarus’ social, political, economic, and scientific potential through an inclusive global dialogue.
We believe that only through this dialogue a genuine, long-lasting solution to the current political and economic crisis can be found, and a realistic plan for the new and free Belarus can be developed.

This event is unique: for the first time in history, the global Belarusian diasporas have joined forces to discuss the future of their country and the role that the diasporas will play in it.
The Congress will serve as a platform for discussing the most pressing challenges, and for developing strategies to resolve the current crisis facing the country.
Belarusians are suffering injustice and persecution on a massive scale. Many have become victims of political and economic repressions by the regime of former president Lukashenko who has resorted to widespread violence and terror to usurp the power in the country.
Current political crisis is the result of escalating violations of human rights, unprecedented abuse of law and electoral system, and shameless exploitation of education, healthcare and media. Gross economic mismanagement driven by corrupt vested interests of Lukashenko’s inner circle, adds to people’s suffering – as does the regime’s refusal to address the COVID-19 health crisis.
The Congress Organizing Committee invites all Belarusians of the world to use the Congress as a forum for free and open exchange of views on the most pressing problems facing Belarus, from protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms to economic development and investments.

Urgent action is needed to restore our civil society. The country’s economy (both public and private sectors), monetary and fiscal policies, social security and healthcare, education, international relations and many other areas require fundamental review and strategic re-planning.

The country’s Defence force and law enforcement are in dire need of deep reforms to restore their allegiance to the Belarusian people, instead of being the dictator’s tools of terror.
The online format of the Congress will enable us to create several thematic workshops, and we will ensure they are open and inclusive of different political views and initiatives. We invite experts from around the globe to share their ideas on social, political and economic issues, on the future of education, science and innovation in our country.

We, Belarusians of the world, stand for the diversity of views in discussing the most pressing issues. We see diversity as an asset that will enhance our collective wisdom and support free exchange of experiences across diverse communities. Together, we will learn and implement the best, evidence-based social and economic governance practices from the world’s leading democracies.

Our goal is ambitious: to develop a set of practical tools for immediate use in resolving the crisis, and for mapping the post-crisis development of our country.

Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, the elected leader of Belarusian people in exile, and her team agreed to speak at the Congress.

Representatives of the Belarus National Republic (BNR) Rada, lead by Ivonka Survilla, will address the participants and the guests of Congress.

Pavel Latushko, member of the presidium of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya's Coordination Council, confirmed his attendance.

Art Ledovsky, secretary of the international community of Belarusian diasporas will speak at the Congress on behalf of all Belarusians living abroad.

Olga Karach, a politician, philanthropist and a public figure, will be a speaking and moderating the workshops.

Igor Leshchenia, a diplomat and the former ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Slovak Republic, will also participate in the event.

The list of speakers will be updated and released closer to October 31.
We are looking forward to welcoming all interested parties to our Congress!
Sincerely,
Organizing Committee for the 1st Belarusian World Congress
