Customizing Clothes with Appliqués

Hi Everyone!

Today’s DIY is a brilliant and super easy way to customize and upgrade your wardrobe. The best part is, it requires zero sewing.

I recently found this super cute, basic black top and a fun 3D flower collar lace applique and thought that my wardrobe would benefit from combining the two. Typically I’d just sew it on, but that just seemed like too much effort, so instead I decided to go the no-sew route and use E6000 to attach the lace and embroidery. This is a great alternative to sewing because you can still wash the clothes like normal once the glue is fully dried.

I chose a lovely rose applique for my piece and then trimmed it to fit. Instead of a full front collar I draped it over the left shoulder and glued it in place.

This top is so cute and even better with the added touch. I’m on an embroidery kick lately and I love the sweet detail this applique adds. I also love that it makes the shirt unique and is still very budget friendly.
