Which router do you use: We've tried a bunch of different routers for flattening quickly you more horsepower gets the job done more quickly. The bosch is a good all around router if you can only get one router that you need to do multiple things. For flattening the Festool 2200 is probably the best router with it's large motor and the easiest and best height control but it's 3 times the price of the Triton which does the job fine as long as you pay attention to it's backlash.

Which router bit do you recommend?
Most people use either a 1-1/2" or 2" router bit with it. The Amana bits have worked well for us, they're a good brand at a fair price.
