Humans have built some pretty amazing things. We can ask a robot to clean our house and order
food from our fridge. But there is something about giant robots that is just so fascinating. From a
giant ant to world’s biggest hexapod, let’s have a look at 10 most incredible giant robots in the
world

Number 10.) Giant Robotic ant
Designing a robot that can move like a member of the animal kingdom is a much more difficult
task than building something that is motionless and doesn’t have much work, like Sophia the
talking robot. Festo is a German robotic company and in 2015, as part of its Bionic Learning
Network, the company introduced a swarm of robotic ants that could operate cooperatively. The
ant robots, also known as the BionicANTS, are not just inspired by the insect's physical body,
but by its swarm intelligence. The company's engineers have managed to mimic the cooperative
behavior of real-world ants with the help of complex control algorithms. Each ant is 13
centimeters long and they communicate with each other and coordinate both their actions and
movements! The 3d camera allows the ant to see and the infrared optical sensor installed below
monitors the moment. Each and makes its decisions separately, but in doing so is always
subordinate to the common objective. This way, all the ant plays its part towards solving the
main task at hand, just like real-world ants.
Number 9.) Kuratas

If you’ve ever watched anime cartoons, you’ve probably seen huge pilot-controlled robots
waging wars on a massive scale, whether to repel an alien invasion or fight a global war. Maybe
we are not far off from that point because now, you can literally buy a huge robot on amazon
japan for $1 million. We knew you could buy anything on amazon but this has gone too far now.
Standing nearly 13 feet tall and weighing five tons, Kuratas looks like something out of a sci-fi
movie. While it may have the feel of a tank, the gasoline-fueled robot moves at a top speed of 6
miles per hour. Kogoro Kurata is the designer and blacksmith behind this gigantic machine.
Suidobashi Heavy Industry is the name that Kurata operates under, believing that establishing a
company would be the first step toward mass production. While there are reviews left on the
Amazon website, it is unclear if anyone has actually purchased the robot. The robot also comes
without any arms and you have to assemble it yourself. Who is ready to spare us $1.3 million for
this robot?
Number 8.) Robot method 2
Considering that Humans remain, pathetic creatures of meat and bone, the era of the almighty
humanoid terminator might be upon us. Enter; METHOD 2, a hulking manned robot made by
Hankook Mirae Technology. If you think that this gigantic piece of metal looks like something
straight out of a Transformer’s movie, you’re not too far off. The company hired Hollywood
designer, Vitaly Bulgarov, who actually worked on “Transformers Age of Extinction to craft the
robot’s look. Development of the Method-2 cost over $100 million, but the robot itself is not for
sale. The company says that a version of the Method-2 could one day be used for disaster relief
or military operations. But wait we have been told that robots will one day take over the world
and wipe out the whole population to start a new life here. whatever happened to that theory?

Method 2 has been piloted by Jeff Bezos himself who introduced the robot at the MARS robotic
conference in palm spring in 2017.
Number 7.) The prosthesis
We might be stretching the truth a little bit here, the prosthesis is not really a robot. But it does
look and move like a robot. This is what you call an anti-robot. It has a robot present inside it and
the human is responsible for performing all of the robot’s moments. The prosthesis is the world's
first purpose-built, off-road racing mech. The 3,900 kilograms, 4.2-metre-high, five-meter-wide
machine, which its creators run on a custom-made lithium-ion battery and electro-hydraulics. It’s
the creation of British Columbia-based engineer and artist Jonathan Tippett. The robot does all
sorts of cool things, and tackle all types of terrain, run at around 20 miles per hour. The battery is
big enough to last the robot two hours of off-road hiking. This robot was built for racing. The
company that builds them wants to have robot racing to become a norm. We are cool with the
idea. Are you?
