Betty Wright, The Clean Up Woman

A native of and lifelong Miami resident, Betty Wright landed on the music scene as a teenager with the minor hit "Girls Can't Do What Guys Can Do" but became a star with her 1971 smash "Clean Up Woman," a love-gone-bad song the theme of which belied the fact that Wright was only 18. It was the highest charting song of Wright's career but not nearly the last. In this video, recorded in 1992, some details of her life are chronicled as she shows off her vocal skills impersonating Patti LaBelle, Tina Turner, Barbara Mason, Al Green and the O'Jays.
