Croatian Aleksandar "Sandy" Marton is a very popular singer in the 80s, especially in the "italo disco" genre.
Discovered by Claudio Cecchetto in 1983, he started under the pseudonym "M. Basic" with the debut single "Ok Run". The track will be used as jingle in the commercial of the video games console Philips Videopac.
The following year, with the name "Sandy Marton", blond tuft and electronic shoulder keyboard, the great success arrived thanks to the disco-dance track "People from Ibiza", the first one in a long series.

Aleksandar "Sandy" Marton è un cantante croato, divenuto famoso soprattutto nel genere della musica "italo disco" degli anni ottanta.
Scoperto da Claudio Cecchetto, nel 1983 esordisce come cantante usando lo pseudonimo "M. Basic", col singolo intitolato "Ok Run". Il brano sarà utilizzato come jingle nella pubblicità della consolle di videogiochi Philips Videopac.
L'anno successivo, con il nome definitivo "Sandy Marton", ciuffo biondo e tastiera elettronica a tracolla, arriva il grande successo col brano disco-dance in inglese People from Ibiza, il primo di una lunga serie.
