Baptism is a Holy Sacrament by which we are born again by being immersed in
water three times in the name of the Holy Trinity; the Father, the Son and the Holy
Spirit, receiving the grace of justification, and hence becoming a child of God, a
brother of Jesus, and an heir (inheritor) of the kingdom of God.
The Sacrament of Baptism has the first rank among the Seven Holy Sacraments, as
it is the door by which the believer enters the church and has the right to partake in
the rest of the Sacraments
By baptism the believer is immersed completely into water when baptized,
By adoption the baptized believer by the grace of God become a son of God,
adopted by Christ to be the
son of His Father.
By faith, the person receiving this Sacrament must believer in Christ first “He
who believes and is bap tized is saved” (Mark 16:16),
By illumination or enlightenmentthe person being baptized becomes
enlightened with the light of faith,
“but recall the former days when after you were enlightened, you endured a
hard struggle” (Hebrews 10:32),
By purification or cleansing the baptized believer is purified of his original
sin.
By Regeneration or Born again the baptized believer is born again of water
and Holy Spirit.
