Leaf Shutter vs Focal Plane Shutter | Hasselblad-X vs Nikon-Z

In this video I provide a comprehensive tutorial on how the leaf shutter in Hasselblad XCD lenses is working. I recorded the leaf shutter movement in slow motion (more than 700fps) and explain the mechanics and advantages of the Hasselblad-X leaf shutter.

The "splintered LED fan" image based on Electronic Shutter you see @13:20 is a consequence of the so-called "Rolling Shutter Effect" occurring if the read-out time of the sensor is slow.

Note after uploading the video: besides the two main advantages (flash sync and durability) of leaf shutter vs focal plane shutter there are likely a few more benefits, for instance, less distortion in certain shooting constellations, etc.
