Join The Washington Post for live coverage and analysis as voting ends in the race between President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden. Libby Casey will anchor from the Post newsroom and be joined by reporters in swing states nationwide, including Arizona, Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

In his reelection bid, Trump has touted his stewardship of the economy, promised an imminent coronavirus vaccine, and employed tough rhetoric on immigration and social unrest. His challenger, former vice president Joe Biden, has said he would reverse many of Trump’s actions and pursue ambitious proposals to address the pandemic, racial injustice and climate change.

The battle for control of the Senate, currently held by Republicans, is also close. Democrats need a net gain of at least four seats to win the majority, or a Biden presidency and three net wins, which would give the vice president the deciding vote in any tie.
