Burl Knife Scale FAIL & Refit Walnut Scales & Copper Plate Liners
Replacing and refitting damaged knife scales. There was a failure directly across one knife scale pin and the other was between the middle and back scale pins.This Bushcraft Knife was only a couple of months old, the scales were stabilised and looked beautiful when the knife was finished, the new knife scales were Walnut Scales with Copper plate liners and a much more stable wood than the original burl scales and looked equally as good when finished, the total time taken to refit the knife scales was around ten hours, I could have been halfway through another knife.
